Ixtapa is a modern, world class resort located on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, also known as the "Mexican Riviera" and offers two resorts in one. Located in the northwestern part of the state of Guerrero, 150 miles up the coast from Acapulco via coastal Highway 200. Ixtapa offers semi-tropical climate year around with an average of 300 sunny days a year and average temperatures ranging from 73 to 93 degrees Fahrenheit. Ixtapa rainy season starts late June through September or sometimes to middle October with precipitation usually in the evenings or nights. You will still get many sunny hours per day to spend on the beach and outdoors. At this time of the year the countryside and the mountains turn brilliantly green with multicolored blossoms of trees and flowers. A few months after the rainy season vegetation turns gradually green-brown until the rainy season begins again.
